Do you know that our soul is composed of harmony?
- Leonardo DaVinci
It's
harmony that your soul and mind embraces again when listening to music.
As sound surrounds you, only some melodies firmly resonate with you,
get an immediate emotional response - whilst their approach is a smooth
and soft one, whilst they slowly, carefully but steadily cling to you,
these melodies eventually grab you with an intensity and force that
overwhelms, that fully absorbs and stirs. It's these very melodies that
are in chime with your mind and soul, it's music that leaves an imprint
on your being and mesmerizes ... music that charms.
LVI. Oceans Of You
Dive into a deep pool of majestic synth-swirls and smart, mesmerizing melodic motifs, as toronto-based psych-pop-maestros, the Nursery, enter challenging musical water with their latest 6-track EP, 'Digital Ashes'. After their colourful and impulsive musical parade ('Carnival Nature') and an appetizing as well as adventurous 'intermezzo' ('She Speaks The Wave'), the creative sound-makers are back with shimmering new tunes, one especially beaming (and brimful of lively charisma). 'Oceans Of You' ships energetically enigmatic and irresistibly whimsical melodic stimuli, boosts suspensefully surging and infectiously intensifying tonal momentum, lays out spooky sonic spheres of engrossing style so refreshingly fine; and yet its Pulec's quirky vocal spells that propel it all.
Hauntingly languorous at core, however, covered in dynamically erratic layers, this ludically rousing and riveting release is one to make your head spin and your mind escape to the wide and wild fields of musical curiosity (unsurprisingly championed by the other five songs featured on the Nursery's flamboyant record).

It's strong musical attraction that is at work when alt-pop enchantress, Natalie McCool, raises one of her powerfully upbeat and yet so alluringly dulcet songs from stylish sophomore album 'The Great Unknown'. carpe carmina has helplessly fallen for single 'Fortress' after first listening, indulged in its joyfully anthemic sound, its moony lyrical sentiment to the fullest, and is ready to be put under a spell anew by what is one of the most vibrant songs listed on the liverpudlian's new musical outing. Song number 9 scores with playfully pulsing and excitingly elusive, delicate melodies, creates a sparkling chemistry between charmingly exotic flair and smooth harmonic flow. Its darling but electrifying timbre serves to highlight Natalie's ever shiny, velvety vocal tone, exposes the gracefully glowing verve in her voice that is vital to appreciate the fascination and feel 'You & I' embraces.
