Back when carpe carmina celebrated its 4th anniversary, the four gentlemen of We are Bandicoot took time to send personalized birthday wishes our way which infused us with yet another pinch of enthusiasm for the sun-kissed and groove-enthused surf-latin vibes, for the keen passion and glowing confidence their music entails.
Now, a new single at the ready, the psych-rock outfit edges towards their audience once again – with a debonairly arrogant attitude and dashing swagger, with coaxingly cavalier charm nonetheless. Headed by ardently nonchalant still smoothly wooing vocals, 'Waiting On' makes the listener, however, long for the big instrumental final for some while; after a delightfully drifting and hazily swirling current of melodies on the move, it's reached eventually when fulminant riffage and rousing rhythms collide. And that moment's been well worth the wait, just as much as it was well worth waiting on a fresh summery tune from We are Bandicoot to land in 2018.
Formed about 5 years ago, the kent-based alt-rock band with psychedelic roots has played plenty of shows in and out of Europe already and will perform next at The Golden Fleece in Chelmsford on May 13 (7pm).
Don't miss to check on their eclectic debut album 'Temper' here [our favourites: the blithely floating but thrilling 'Temper' (all that needs to be said, is guitar finish), the playfully dreamy and melodiously misty 'Smile' as well as the charmingly darling and vibrantly breezy 'Yes Man'].
