Do you know that our soul is composed of harmony?
- Leonardo DaVinci
It's
harmony that your soul and mind embraces again when listening to music.
As sound surrounds you, only some melodies firmly resonate with you,
get an immediate emotional response - whilst their approach is a smooth
and soft one, whilst they slowly, carefully but steadily cling to you,
these melodies eventually grab you with an intensity and force that
overwhelms, that fully absorbs and stirs. It's these very melodies that
are in chime with your mind and soul, it's music that leaves an imprint
on your being and mesmerizes ... music that charms.
LXIV. In Deep Lovers
Only out since mid may and yet carpe carmina is deeply in love with it already! Velvety smooth, soulful vocal finery and peppy, vibrantly pulsing melodies guarantee that the dulcet yet dynamic debut single of liverpool's latest musical offspring, M.A.N.E, is a true delight to listen to. To such an extent even that 'In Deep Lovers' has been featured on both Mexico's and Japan's 'Viral 50' spotify playlist thus far, while seeing its first time airplay on native soil, namely during BBC Introducing with Dave Monks, ahead of its official release (May 12). As a slot at Dartford Festival was confirmed and a lyric video for the sparkling and souly song was shared online (so people can learn the lines by heart and sing it back at the stunning vocalist behind M.A.N.E on July 16), @makingmane (that's how he refers to himself on twitter) is slowly but steadily making a name for himself among music lovers, one that is pronounced with amazement and admiration early on.

LXV. Fame
Some musicians do it for the love - both, theirs for the music they create and the one they receive from the people listening - some do it for the reputation and reown they earn by it; Liam McClair's recent single release 'Fame' lyrically focuses on what negative sides artists' claim to fame can have, being constantly followed and watched by reporters and fans, being exposed and exploited in the media while wondering what it really is the masses are fascinated by, one's talent or charisma? One's fortune and fame ? To accentuate the misery and isolation that potentially lies in being famous, a grave, sonorously clangorous drum rhythm and atmospherically gripping riffage are aligned and set the course for haunting acoustic melodies, for Liam's expressive, ardently yearning voice to let you feel 'his' pain. That the museful manchester-based singer/songwriter is making music as well as making use of his prestige and prowess as an artist for all the right reasons though, has become crystal clear again when he performed at Texture on tuesday to raise money for those affected by the suicide bombing carried out at a pop concert at Manchester Arena last week. Big love and kudos for that, and congrats on such a charmingly eye-opening and sensitive folk-pop-gem!
